The SFM journey all started with the girl on the left...
After we had just ran the LA Marathon, she told me that SFM released a "challenge" to run LA Marathon and SF Marathon in the same calender year to then receive a shnazzy medal, we are total suckers and signed up immediately..
L brought her lovelie sister A along and we had an amazing time! We started the expo off right by bumping into this guy (read Bart Yasso) we totally interrupted him on his mad dash to the little boys room, but he is SO nice, he couldn't resist our eager faces..
I mean, could you?
After the expo we headed off for fun in the town, we picked up breakfast for the next morning as well..
WE got AMAZING 1 hour foot massages the day before the race, it ruled, I think that's why my feet were so happy even after the race, possibly a new ritual amongst us folks!
We found this sign, and this panda.
I found the coolest alcoholic beverage bottles EVER
played with friends...
And then headed back to the fancy hotel to lay our outfits out for the next morning, to make the 3:30am process as easy as possible..
I ran this race knowing that I was running it for someone else, I was running this race to help my friend cross the finish line, she was recently pretty sick, and even as a avid runner and TNT coach she just needed some support, so I ran by her side the entire race... This gave me the opportunity to work on my future coaching skills, watching for signs and just being present in the very moment, not worrying about time, or anything else in between.
This is the 3rd time running the SFM course, and I feel that this was the best course support EVER, there were numerous mom and pop table tops with oranges and such set up along the 2nd half, and this time around it was much easier then the past 2 races... I love this race, and want to bring little rad to SF next year to experience it for herself...
And here we are....
I leave on Wednesday for Vancouver for the Inagural lululemon Half Marathon, wish me luck!
